Executive Director

Ajay Dahiya

Executive Director

Ajay Dahiya was born and brought up on the outskirts of London, England.  He began meditating at the age of ten following encounters with monastics and wisdom teachers.  By age twenty-one, he had completed three years training as a noviciate and was ordained as a monk in the Bhakti tradition.  In this capacity, he quickly rose through the ranks of his order, eventually becoming a junior abbot.

For much of the ensuing decade Ajay travelled the world, giving discourses on philosophy, commenting on modern social issues and consulting communities of all sizes. He became known for his capacity to bring diverse groups together, and organize and realise innovative strategies.  In 2014 he relinquished the station of monk, and married Lauren who will give birth to their first child in November.

Prior to his current position, Ajay served in New York City as the youngest CEO of a historical community facility where he created dynamic programming, built a flourishing community and doubled the organization's turnover during his two and a half year tenure.

As Executive Director of InsightLA, Ajay combines his commitment to wisdom traditions and mindfulness with a passion for social action, community building and diversity.  He recognises that his current role offers him the rare opportunity to serve the dharma and grow the sangha - a privilege he intends to fulfill to the best of his ability.

Director of Digital Content

Sarah Selders

Director of Digital Content

Sarah captures stories through the lens of a camera in a way that others cannot. From taking on the state of welfare in Montana through documentary film production to editing at various Los Angeles post-production companies, Sarah's background proves she finds purpose, beauty, and intrigue behind the camera and while editing.

She was the lead Video Editor at americanidol.com for 5 season, traveling the country shooting, producing, and editing a behind the scenes glance at what it's like to be a part of a para"the greatest show on television" from the beginning to the very end. Sarah went on to work for many more shows during her career in network and cable television. After she landed a job with the UCLA Center For International Medicine, creating a training video for midwives in Ghana, her life and career goals started to align, giving her work a purpose she had been longing for. She then was asked to edit a series of mindfulness training videos for the Los Angeles VA and she knew she had been given a gift. That gift was the ability to use her skill set on something that mattered to the world, in return, jumpstarting Sarah's career in creative storytelling for non-profits and small businesses.
