“Getting away with it all messed up, That’s called living” -James (band)
People often think of spiritual practice as necessarily inviting that which is “transcendent” or “mystical.” But what about the ordinary stuff? It’s the seemingly “non spiritual” stuff of work, relationships, politics, trauma, emotions, sex, social oppression, media consumption and addiction patterns that most of us are actually grappling with day in and day out.
The Dharma offers a wide array of practices and principles which are deeply relevant and useful to an ordinary human life. This two day non-residential retreat will invite you to drop your “spiritual mask” and show up as you really are with the challenges and concerns that populate your real life. in this gentle and non-judgemental weekend we will offer some insight into how essential Buddhist practices and principles can help us navigate real life personal and social content.
We will reserve mornings for lecture and practice and during the more interactive afternoon sessions we will apply practice to more specific content. Attendees will be invited to offer input from their own lives to help inform the specific afternoon themes.
Space is limited, please be sure to sign up soon if you plan on joining us.
