at East Hollywood Meditation Center, (4300 Melrose Avenue, Los Angeles, CA, 90029)
This is a daylong meditation retreat for anyone who identifies as an artist, activist, educator, creative or healer of any kind (therapists, social workers, bodyworkers and other forms welcome).
In the Insight tradition, we acknowledge the interdependent nature of reality, and this daylong is offered in that spirit. With gratitude, we wish to acknowledge and appreciate those of you who are contributing to the healing of our world in these ways and to give back, offering a space for self care, rest, and rejuvenation, so that you can continue your valuable work from a place of deep support and nourishment. This is a completely dana (donation) based offering.
The container of a daylong retreat offers a unique opportunity to slow down and connect to our own experience within a supportive, silent container. Deepen your practice in community through the cultivation of mindfulness and lovingkindness, and give yourself the gift of a day spent quieting the mind and heart and allowing your innate wisdom and compassion to unfold and develop. There will be an emphasis in this retreat on skillful means for self care as well.
There will be periods of silent sitting and walking meditation with some instruction and guidance, a Dharma talk, and discussion. There will be a break for lunch. You may bring a brown bag lunch or you may try a local place to eat within walking distance.
At InsightLA, we’re dedicated to creating a safe and welcome, open and equitable community that stands firmly against all racial, gender, economic, or religious bias.
