(Hybrid: In-Person) Sunday Sitting Group with Trudy Goodman and Jack Kornfield

Sunday mornings are treasured at InsightLA as we enjoy a warm community gathering for this special weekly practice group. This group began late in 2002 and is the longest-running, most attended group after almost twenty years.

Sunday Practice Groups are led by InsightLA founder Trudy Goodman or one of the many wonderful InsightLA teachers who have studied with her. We are occasionally joined by special guest teachers.

Who is this practice group for?
InsightLA drop-in sitting groups are an opportunity for you to learn more about meditation practice in a welcoming environment. All Practice Groups at InsightLA are drop-in and donation-based. Let’s Sit Together!

Expect a meditation with some guidance, followed by a Dharma talk and dialogue. Optional break-out groups give you a chance to get to know others and explore your practice experiences together.

No prior meditation experience is necessary.

Online:
To join us online, please register using the green “register now” button on the top left of this page. You will automatically be sent the Zoom information to join just a few minutes after registering. This Zoom information will also appear under ‘My Profile’ and ‘My Event Registration’ when you are logged into to your InsightLA account. NEW: Some of you have been wanting the Sunday morning sitting group to offer Zoom breakout rooms so you can feel more of a sense of community. Now, Sundays @ 11:40 (after a short break) small groups meet on Zoom for 20-30 minutes. This is a great opportunity to meet 3 or 4 people in a more personal way.

During the ten-minute ‘intermission’ you can gather your lunch, stretch or simply enjoy some offline moments. These small group discussions can strengthen your understanding of the dharma and give you courage to keep going. It’s an optional way to learn more about yourself and some of the people you practice with. If you feel drawn to connect with others, please come! Breakout groups are automatically formed by the Zoom format; they change from week to week so you can meet more of your Sunday sitting group community.

By Donation:

Although this is a donation-based class, registration is required.
