Financial Support

We are committed to providing opportunities for all people to participate in our programs. We are able to offer payment plans for students who request them.  Approximately 50% of programming is donation-based, pay what you can. If you are interested in attending an offering that is tuition-based and are not able to afford the cost of the class, we offer financial support to reduce the fee of the class on a first-come first-served basis.

We have funding allocated for People of Color (POC), Queer people, folks with serious medical conditions, and young adults (age 18-24). Funding is offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Funding is budgeted per class, retreat or event and because of high demand, can run out quickly.

Safety

We work to protect the safety of all students. We reserve the right to remove any student from any class, sitting group, retreat, or any event if the student is disruptive to the safe learning environment we maintain for all.

Cancellation & Refunds

We reserve the right to cancel a class or special event due to low enrollment or other circumstances which would make the event non-viable. If InsightLA cancels an event you’ve registered for, you will be offered a full refund. If an event has to be postponed for any reason, you will have the option to either receive a full refund or transfer your registration to the same event at the new, future date.

Event Policies

The most basic invitation of Buddhist practice is to turn towards and know the full range of human experience.  Trauma presents distinct challenges to the practice of mindfulness. It overwhelms our capacity for presence and often results in dissociation from or overwhelming sensations in the body. (The first foundation of mindfulness). It may also result in all kinds of psychological adaptions, changes in perception and intrusive thoughts and images (the 3rd foundation of mindfulness). People with a history of trauma may need other tools to support dharma practice. In this workshop we will approach the 4 truths with an awareness of trauma and learn some approaches to presence and responsiveness that honor the distinct experience of people with a history of trauma.  All are welcome
