Join us each month for an afternoon community sit along with a talk on a Buddhist book. Librarian and Dharma teacher Eileen Ybarra will lead a 30 minute guided meditation and offer a talk on a dharma based book.
Each month will highlight a new book, including both fiction and non-fiction Buddhist literature. Those who have read the book are welcome to share their own experiences and those who have not yet read the book will hopefully get a better sense of what it has to offer.
This is not a formal study group, but rather a way that the community can explore Buddhist themed books. Here is the schedule:
Lovingkindness: The Revolutionary Art of Happiness by Sharon Salzberg – August 2019
Dipa Ma: The Life and Legacy of a Buddhist Master by Amy Schmidt – September 2019
A Still Forest Pool: The Insight Meditation of Achaan Chah, Edited by Jack Kornfield – October 2019
Mindfulness in Plain English by Henepola Gunaratana – November 2019
Awakening Together: The Spiritual Practice of Inclusivity and Community by Larry Yang – December 2019
