Refund and Event Policies

Bruce Lee reminded us that, “under duress, we don’t rise to the level of our expectations, we fall to the level of our training.”  Teachers, from bodhisattvas in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition to specialists in our modern trauma-resiliency world, have developed transformative but easily accessible formal and informal meditation practices and reminders to help us train our heart-minds to stay open, kind, and responsive no matter what challenges arise.  When we become fluent in these skills, we begin to see each moment, no matter how difficult, as an opportunity to put all of our training into action!

Each week we focus on a particular practice or insight which we can carry off the cushion and into the world, relying particularly on the Tibetan Buddhist wisdom from the Lojong slogans (helpful training aids for turning towards difficulty with compassion that have been practiced for over 800 years) and the 37 Practices of All Bodhisattvas, as well as resiliency practices found in our more modern circles of wisdom, such as those developed for the Mindful Self Compassion (MSC) Program and those from the trauma-informed mindfulness world.

We meet and check in with the group at noon, there is a short talk on the week’s insight or skill, and we practice with a meditation designed to help you have a true felt-sense and understanding to take with you after the meditation is over and into the rest of your week.

Join us every Wednesday from 12-1pm PT.

NOTE: no class on April 13
