Refund and Event Policies

In this class we will explore the Buddha’s teachings on Sila, often translated as Virtue or Morality, these essential teachings offer us a means for living from our highest integrity which is the greatest gift we can offer ourselves and everyone around us. In this class series, we will examine Wise Action, Wise Speech and Wise Livelihood, a cornerstone of the eightfold path of practice as well as other essential Buddhist teachings on social harmony. By growing strong roots of integrity in our meditation practice, the path unfolds with ease and the bliss of blamelessness can be known firsthand.

“The vigor of the spiritual life, like the vigor of a tree, depends upon healthy roots. Just as a tree with weak and shallow roots cannot flourish but will grow up stunted, withered and barren, so a spiritual life devoid of strong roots will also have a stunted growth incapable of bearing fruit. To attempt to scale the higher stages of the path it is essential at the outset to nourish the proper roots of the path; otherwise the result will be frustration, disillusionment, and perhaps even danger. The roots of the path are the constituents of sila, the factors of moral virtue. These are the basis for meditation, the ground for all wisdom and higher achievement” – Bhikku Bodhi.

Class meets from 7:00 – 8:15 PM. There will be an optional Q&A and group discussion from 8:15-8:45pm. Join us for one class or all six for the best cumulative effect.
