About this event:
This is an opportunity for people who identify as transgender to practice meditation together, build community and explore the experience of transition.
All people under the trans umbrella are welcome no matter where you exist along the gender spectrum or binary, as well as those who are questioning their gender identity.
Transition means something different for everyone and for some folks, can involve a whole range of possible steps, including social, medical and/or legal changes, or maybe none of these things. Regardless of whether you are just considering transition or if you began your transition decades ago, your experience is relevant and welcome.
This is an opportunity to be mindful of our inner sense of who we are, how we understand our gender, and how we wish to be seen. We will also explore ways to offer tenderness and compassion to ourselves, both for the ways we may have internalized transphobia and for the difficulty of living in a cis-normative world.
The format will include a lightly guided meditation, opportunities to share both the challenges and the celebrations of your gender journey, in larger group discussion and/or in small groups.
Regardless of where you are in your journey, this is a place to let go and just be!
