Financial Support

Our mission is to make all of our programs accessible. Every fee-based offering has a limited number of pay-what-you-can spots available to support self-identified people of color, members of marginalized groups (queer people, transgender people, and  people with disabilities) and those in financial need (those for whom the cost to attend is not financially possible).

These spots are offered on a first come, first served basis. Please pay at the highest level you can afford. In order for this support to be available, we rely on those who can afford to pay the full price to do so.

Find out if spots are available by clicking REGISTER NOW on the event you are interested in.

In the event that these spots have been claimed and you’re interested in attending please email support@insightla.org to be added to the financial support waitlist.

In addition, we offer Payment Plans in a variety of amounts and durations (ie: If the class is $100 you can make 2 monthly payments of $50 or 4 monthly payments of $25). For payment plan requests, please email support@insightla.org

Refund and Event Policies

Join fellow caregivers and students in the mental health and medical fields for an afternoon dedicated to cultivating refuge, building connection and mindful support. As a community we will  support each other to offset work-related stress, vicarious trauma, and caregiver fatigue during these challenging times of COVID-19 and heightened awareness of racial injustice. We will share ways to experience and cultivate refuge through community building, Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC), self-care techniques, stress reduction strategies and beyond.

THIS SEMINAR WILL ENABLE THE MENTAL HEALTH AND HEALTHCARE PROVIDER TO:

  • Utilize Mindfulness Meditation to reduce stress and prevent caregiver fatigue.
  • Apply Mindful Self-Compassion practices to develop self-care and care for others.
  • Identify areas of vicarious trauma in patient care and develop Mindfulness Self-Compassion strategies to regulate the emotional impact, seek refuge and support.
  • Describe different applications of Mindfulness Meditation and Mindfulness Self-Compassion
  • Assess the impact of racial injustice in both personal and professional life.

ACTIVITIES WILL FOCUS ON:

  • The contemplative models of Mindfulness Meditation and Mindful Self-Compassion
  • Guided meditation
  • Aspects of vicarious trauma in patient care
  • Compassionate care with equanimity
  • Exploration of values as a healthcare provider
  • Moral distress
  • Loving kindness or self-compassion meditation
  • Self-care

Mindfulness Meditation is a way of paying non-judgmental attention to our moment-by-moment experience. It is a way to effectively deepen our personal practice and work with the stress, physical pain and “emotional overload” we often have in our daily lives. This meditation practice can assist in living more skillfully, creatively and compassionately. It can help restore and maintain a sense of personal balance.

Self-compassion involves acting the same way towards yourself as you would towards others when you are having a difficult time, fail, or notice something you don’t like about yourself. Instead of just ignoring your pain with a “stiff upper lip” mentality, you stop to tell yourself “this is really difficult right now,” how can I comfort and care for myself in this moment?

We meet every third Saturday of the month 2-3:30PM.  Come join a mindful community and connect with other mental health and health providers.
