Financial Support

Our mission is to make all of our programs accessible. Every fee-based offering has a limited number of pay-what-you-can spots available to support self-identified people of color, members of marginalized groups (queer people, transgender people, and  people with disabilities) and those in financial need (those for whom the cost to attend is not financially possible).

These spots are offered on a first come, first served basis. Please pay at the highest level you can afford. In order for this support to be available, we rely on those who can afford to pay the full price to do so.

Find out if spots are available by clicking REGISTER NOW on the event you are interested in.

Safety

We work to protect the safety of all students. We reserve the right to remove any student from any class, sitting group, retreat, or any event if the student is disruptive to the safe learning environment we maintain for all.

Cancellation & Refunds

We reserve the right to cancel a class or special event due to low enrollment or other circumstances which would make the event non-viable. Sacred Movement is a blend of Therapeutic Yoga, Taoist Qigong, Insight Meditation & Mindfulness.  Please join InsightLA teacher Karen Cryer for this a weekly drop-in class focusing on postural alignment, balance, flexibility, increased range of motion, and strengthening.

Through the practices of Qigong, gentle Hatha yoga, and mindfulness meditation, this class will help you use your body to open your heart, create spaciousness, improve concentration, and promote overall well-being.

These gentle practices can promote healing, mobility, strength, and connection to your body.  This course provides specific takeaway techniques to relieve stress and become more grounded in daily life.

The overall flow of this class engages awareness of the body in movement and in rest, bringing energy and release to areas of tightness or injury.

Some of the practices will include:

– Neuromuscular self-care
– Understanding and working with the Five Elements
– Using the body scan meditation for greater awareness
– Seated Insight meditations

Other Class Notes:

Though this is a healing practice, we are not guaranteeing specific individual results. This is a movement practice, please check with your physician if you have health concerns before participation.

Several props are used in this class and it is helpful to have them, or you may find items at home that will work as well. Props include a yoga mat, an 8-10 ft. yoga strap, 2 foam 4” yoga blocks, a blanket, a bolster (for restorative yoga), 2 hand towels (for neck & low back support), and a chair (a folding chair is great).  The yoga items are available through some Target & Whole Foods stores as well as YogaOutlet.com or Amazon.
