Refund and Event Policies

Meditation Coalition and InsightLA are honored to host Lama Rod Owens in this day of practice for people of color.

Maya Angelou once wrote: “The ache for home lives in all of us. The safe place where we can go as we are and not be questioned.”  James Baldwin reflected: “Perhaps home is not a place but simply an irrevocable condition.” In The Wiz, Stephanie Mills sang: “When I think of home I think of place where there’s love overflowing.” No matter how we think of home, it is a place that many of us need. The needing of a place called home is the needing to be in a place where we are safe and taken care of.  Home is the experience of taking refuge in something that restores us through love. Homecoming is opening to how home is calling us into being held and cared for.  As a community in this daylong retreat, we will be moving through mindfulness practice, heart based practices, pranayama (energy breath practice), simple movement practice, as well as Lama Rod’s touching earth practice (Bhumisparsha) and the 7 Homecomings to explore the profound path of homecoming.

The suggested donation is $15-$35 with the opportunity to offer additional dana at the event. When you click to register you’ll have the option to choose whatever amount is feasible for you. No one turned away for lack of funds.

Time: 10am – 4pm

Location: The event is taking place in Chinatown. The address is 1001 North Main St, Los Angeles, CA 90012

There is an elevator available in this building. There is also plenty of street parking. The space has a fully functional kitchen should you wish to bring your lunch or participate in a potluck lunch.
