Ed Greenberg

Visiting Teacher

ED GREENBERG is a director, actor, and long time practitioner of
Vipassana Insight Meditation. He began acting in San Francisco’s legendary
improvisational theater troupe “The Committee.” In the early 1970’s, Ed
traveled to Bodh Gaya, India to study meditation with S.N. Goenka. On his
return to America, Ed continued his acting and directing career, including a
long stint as director at the renowned improvisation venue “The Second
City” in Chicago. He has taught acting at USC’s School of Cinematic Arts,
and led improv workshops internationally in the U.K., France, Sweden,
China, and Rwanda. Ed has coached lawyers, psychotherapists, medical and
business professionals in using humor to enhance presentation and
storytelling skills. Currently, Ed serves as Executive Director and lead
Comedy Mentor at Laughter for a Change (L4C). L4C is a non-profit that
brings compassion and comedy, through improv training and shows, to
diverse communities including post-genocide Rwandan youth, former L.A.
gang members, and U.S. combat veterans suffering from post traumatic
stress.
