Noel Alumit
Noel Alumit received his Master of Divinity in Buddhist chaplaincy at the University of the WEST and was ordained in 2015 through the International Center for Chinese Buddhist Culture and Education.
He contributed a chapter to A Thousand Hands: A Guidebook to Caring for your Buddhist Community (Sumero Press) and runs WRITE EFFORT: Creative Writing Through a Buddhist Lens.
Noel spent twenty years doing AIDS work, most of them with the Asian Pacific AIDS Intervention Team. He also served on the California Commission on APIA Affairs with the mission “to elevate the political, economic, and social issues of Asians and Pacific Islanders by contributing to and strengthening how state government addresses the needs, issues, and concerns of the diverse and complex Asian and Pacific Islander American communities.”
