Alison Spielmann, MAT
Alison Spielmann, M.A.T. comes from an education background, having taught as an elementary school teacher and parent education teacher for many years. She began her formal mindfulness training at the Mindfulness Awareness Research Center (MARC) at UCLA. In addition to many classes, workshops, and retreats at UCLA, she participated in their Intensive Practice Program (IPP), and especially enjoyed focusing on the heart practices of loving-kindness, compassion, joy, and equanimity.
Alison is a graduate of the Mindfulness Facilitator Training Program, at InsightLA, with Trudy Goodman and Maureen Shannon-Chapple. She has also trained with Christiane Wolf in the InsightLA Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Practicum.
Alison teaches mindfulness privately and at various locations. She volunteers with ill, elderly, and bedridden individuals, exploring how mindfulness can help to ease their suffering. Alison loves being in nature and is passionate about mindfulness of the body. She practices yoga and walking/hiking meditation. She is committed to finding joy in the present moment.
