Financial Support

Our mission is to make all of our programs accessible. Every fee-based offering has a limited number of pay-what-you-can spots available to support self-identified people of color, members of marginalized groups (queer people, transgender people, and  people with disabilities) and those in financial need (those for whom the cost to attend is not financially possible).

These spots are offered on a first come, first served basis. Please pay at the highest level you can afford. In order for this support to be available, we rely on those who can afford to pay the full price to do so.

Find out if spots are available by clicking REGISTER NOW on the event you are interested in.

We work to protect the safety of all students. We reserve the right to remove any student from any class, sitting group, retreat, or any event if the student is disruptive to the safe learning environment we maintain for all.

As BIPOC peoples, it is time to reconnect to the joy that is intrinsic to our being! Join us for 2 days of self-healing and celebration at Benedict Canyon Retreat House in Beverly Hills.

Opening to Joy

Our BIPOC communities can offer a passion and resilience that is vital to our healing. In these times of catastrophic climate change, racial hatred, a globe-spanning pandemic, virulent homophobia and transphobia, it is imperative we reconnect to the joy that is an integral part of our being.

During this 2-day retreat, we will use a variety of embodied modalities including movement, sound, ritual, and meditation to access the joy that is our birthright. Joy is one of the antidotes to trauma. Opening to joy helps increase our capacity for self-care and healing in the face of intergenerational trauma in BIPOC communities. Come join us!

At this retreat, you will learn to:

  • Resource yourself when activated
  • Increase your tools for self-healing
  • Increase your capacity to experience joy

Who is this retreat for?

This 2-day retreat is open to all people who self-identify as BIPOC and are ready to open to joy. No prior meditation experience is necessary.

Where is this retreat located?

This non-residential 2-day retreat will take place at Benedict Canyon Retreat House in Beverly Hills. Yoga mats, blankets, chairs and meditation cushions are available. Find directions, accessibility, and important parking information here.

COVID-19 Policy: In keeping with the principles of the dharma that underlie our activities, primarily non-harming, we are requiring that all attendees be fully vaccinated in order to attend in person. Masks are optional as all attendees are fully vaccinated. Attendance is limited to allow for social distancing.
