As we move into late Summer let’s gather at the beautiful Canyon House for a day of practice and community. The day will be mostly held in noble silence, with guided and unguided practices inside and outside the Canyon House. There will be brief Dharma talks and some small and big group exploration and processing.
Many of us live mostly in our head. And with the constant onslaught of often distressing news it’s even harder to stay embodied and grounded. The Buddha taught about “guarding the doors of the senses” to protect the heart and mind but what does that mean? On this daylong we will be exploring our sense experience as a doorway into ease and presence and being skillful about what we let in.
We will learn what the Buddha taught about the senses, desire, craving and the desire that leads to the end of desire and how that is relevant and supportive for us in everyday life.
