Many of us practice meditation with a sense of effort, hoping to calm the mind or “do it right.” But sometimes, too much trying makes the mind tighter. Sayadaw U Tejaniya’s approach begins with relaxation — letting the body soften and letting the mind settle naturally.

In this daylong, we explore how awareness grows when we stop pushing. With a relaxed attitude, the mind becomes clearer on its own. We learn to notice what is happening in a simple, gentle way: sounds, thoughts, feelings, movements, and the quality of the mind that knows them.

This day is supportive for anyone who feels tired, stressed, or wants a more natural relationship with meditation.

You are invited to come, rest, and let awareness unfold in its own rhythm.

Generosity/Dana
This is a dana retreat. The practice of giving donations/dana helps continue the ancient Buddhist monastic tradition of teaching on a dana basis – dana being the Pali word for generosity or giving freely.

Your contributions help teachers to lead a life devoted to teaching both at InsightLA and in other parts of the world, including communities without the means to donate. Your gifts also allow teachers to take time for their own practice, ensuring that their teachings are continuously enriched.

Suggested Donation: $85
