“Both of us discovered that the path of mindfulness through the body is deeply rewarding and meaningful. It is key to our progress on the path toward liberation. We are passionate about this gateway to the Dharma.”
– Hakim Tafari and James Rosser

Of all kinds of mindfulness, the Buddha first taught mindfulness of the body. It is the foundation of practice. Embark on a journey of mindful movement and deep connection to your body with our immersive day-long workshop.

This workshop offers a unique opportunity to explore the powerful synergy between ancient mindful movement practices of Qi Gong, which is known for cultivating life energy, and the practice of mindfulness, which brings awareness to the present moment, including the body and its sensations.

What to Expect:

  • Gentle Movement Practices: Learn foundational forms that combine slow, flowing movements, breathwork, and focused intention. These practices will help you to cultivate and balance your vital energy, promoting physical and emotional well-being.
  • Discussion of the Buddhist suttas that are the foundation for mindfulness meditation
  • Mindful Body Awareness: Develop a deeper connection to your physical body through guided exercises and meditations that enhance proprioception (the sense of where your body is in space) and interoception (awareness of internal bodily sensations).
  • Release Tension and Promote Healing: Explore how gentle movements and mindful awareness can help release physical and emotional tension stored in the body, facilitating a sense of relaxation and ease.
  • Connect with Your Breath: Learn conscious breathing techniques that complement movements and enhance mindfulness, promoting relaxation, stress reduction, and improved energy flow.
  • Cultivate Inner Peace and Clarity: Experience the calming and centering effects of combined movement and mindfulness practices, leading to greater mental clarity and emotional balance.
  • Practical Tools for Daily Life: Leave with practical movement exercises and mindfulness techniques to easily integrate into your daily routine to support ongoing health and well-being.

Who is this workshop for?

  • Individuals seeking to deepen their connection with their bodies and cultivate greater awareness.
  • Those interested in exploring movement as a gentle yet powerful mind-body practice.
  • Anyone looking for effective stress reduction techniques.
  • People seeking to improve their physical and emotional well-being.
  • All levels of experience are welcome, from beginners to experienced practitioners.

Join us for a day of rejuvenation, self-discovery, and gentle exploration of the mind-body connection!
