A 5-hour daylong for beginners and anyone wanting to begin again
Mindfulness is not a special state you have to achieve. It is the simple, trainable capacity to meet this moment, breath, body, thought, feeling with a steady heart.
This daylong is for people who want the real basics, taught slowly and practiced in the body: how to sit, how to return when the mind wanders, how to work with restlessness and self-judgment, and how to carry a sliver of presence into ordinary life.
No prior experience is needed. You do not have to be calm, spiritual, flexible, or “good at this.” You only need a willingness to show up and practice.
What the day includes
- A clear introduction to mindfulness: what it is, what it is not, and why attention can be trained
- Guided sitting meditation, with instruction on posture, breath, and working with thought
- Walking meditation and simple embodied practice
- A body-based practice to settle the nervous system
- Time for questions, common obstacles, and how to begin a sustainable home practice
- Quiet, unhurried space
Who this is for
- Complete beginners
- People who have tried apps and want live guidance
- Anyone returning after a long pause
- Those who want less theory and more actual practice
What to expect
The day moves between instruction, practice, and rest. There will be periods of silence. There will also be room to ask the questions people usually keep to themselves: Am I doing this right? What if I can’t stop thinking? What if I get bored or emotional?
You will leave with a simple framework you can use the next morning — not a pile of concepts.
What to bring
Comfortable clothing, a notebook if you like, water, a snack and whatever helps you sit (cushion, chair, or bench). Meditation cushions and chairs provided.
Suggested donation: $125
