We’re so happy to share that this 5-week Living Dharma class series will take place in person at the InsightLA space on Olympic Blvd in Santa Monica, with an online option to join on zoom.

We are all coming home to the Dharma, coming home to being together in person, and coming home to this larger community we’ve collectively woven together online, in locations all over! I’m grateful to be able offer this class series to all of you once again, or to some of you for the first time. Welcome back and deep welcome to those who may be new.

In the Living Dharma class series, we study the traditional Buddhist teachings from the Insight meditation tradition and learn how to apply them to daily life for greater ease, clarity, and well being. The focus for this class will be how we can apply the Buddha’s teachings to live a more joyful, wakeful, and meaningful life. In learning to turn towards the 4 noble truths the Buddha taught, we will explore ways to transform suffering here and now. The cultivation of clear seeing and wisdom is just as important today as it was thousands of years ago and we can all find creative ways to apply these teachings to our current conditions- for ourselves and the greater collective.

There will be time for longer meditations, instruction, Dharma talks, small group work, reflections and discussion to deepen learning together in community.

If you’d like additional reading for the class you can reference or purchase the book “Dancing with Life” by Phillip Moffitt (not required).

Participants will be strongly encouraged to meditate for at least 30 minutes daily to support the deepening of their understanding. This class is appropriate for those with experience practicing Insight Meditation, working with the Buddha’s teachings, and / or practicing on silent retreat.

Please note, this is a 5 week class series, not a drop-in group. Please sign up with the intention of attending all of the class sessions as each class builds on the last. If you know you will miss more than one class, please choose a different drop in group to leave this class series space open for other students who can commit to the full session as in person space is limited.
