Yoga for Radiant Health is a hybrid class of therapeutic yoga, Taoist Qigong, strengthening & stabilizing practices, mindfulness, including guided meditation, poetry, & more.
This is a “functional” yoga class with elements of somatic practices based on the work of Thomas Hanna. “Soma” is from a Greek word meaning “living body.” The practices in this class are about learning to flow with the stresses of daily life within this living body and mind, holding it with equanimity.
Taoist qigong is an ancient healing system of gentle forms & movements to cultivate energy within the mind & body, help alleviate stiffness, tension, bringing us back in harmony with ourselves. Qigong is truly a practice for the body, mind, and spirit.
Practicing in community with others is supportive & nourishing. Many practices may be done in a chair. Please check with your medical provider if mobility restriction or chronic issues are present before taking this class.
This is a yoga practice for all bodies and all levels with plenty of room for modification, integration and deep listening to what your unique body and mind need.
This class is a donation based offering. Suggested donation is $20 dollars – no-one turned away for lack of funds.
Drop in and practice with us every Friday!
Yoga mats, blankets, meditation cushions and bolsters are provided.
