Our goal for 2018 is to offer 100 non-profit employees access to these potentially life-changing meditation training programs. In addition, our Insight in Action program includes a scholarship fund. Many individuals come to us who are not able to pay for our classes, retreats, and special events. Through our Insight in Action Scholarship Fund, we offer partial or full scholarships to our programs based on need. At each class we offer at InsightLA approximately 20% of students are on a full or partial scholarship. We are able to touch these lives through our scholarships program because of our generous donors.

He acknowledges the amount of suffering that is present in the room and in the world. But allowing us to accept that and realize no one has to take that suffering away from us. We don’t need to be fixed to be whole.
Talk Pt. 3: Inhabiting moments (04:23)
Jon Kabat-Zinn reminds us to inhabit as many moments as we can during the time we are alive to inhabit them. Allowing things to be as they are.

Meditations:
Meditation Pt. 1: Riding or surfing on the waves of your own breathing (14:25)
Jon Kabat-Zinn leads this first meditation practice on reflection. He encourages us to embrace our body resting in awareness; cultivating intimacy with our own awareness. Jon tells us to befriend the feeling of our body breathing.
Meditation Pt. 2: Standing Meditation (12:01)
This meditation led by Jon Kabat-Zinn is done standing. He asks us to feel the air with our hands and our breath. Moment to moment, nonjudgmental. This is one of the 4 formal Buddhist meditation practices that we can take in to our every day lives.
Meditation Pt. 3: Primary Focus vs. Choice-less Awareness (22:21)
Jon Kabat-Zinn talks about primary focus vs. choice-less awareness during this meditation. We can notice what is on our mind, and bring it back, leading to pure awareness. The other option is to practice open presence, not picking out one particular object to attend to, you just find a way to be present.
Meditation Pt. 4: Dropping underneath our thinking (16:20)
There is no beginning and no end, it’s all practice is what Jon Kabat-Zinn reminds us during this meditation. Awareness has no boundaries, and it’s the same for our heart. As Sharon Salzberg reminds us, our heart is as wide as the world.
Meditation Pt. 5: Walking Meditation (14:57)
Just walk, Jon Kabat-Zinn says. Walk at a pace that allows you to be in the walking experience; your awareness in touch with the ground. Be aware of the light and the air.
Meditation Pt. 6: Wakefulness (20:56)
Jon Kabat-Zinn leads the final meditation of the day on recognizing the freshness in each moment. He reminds us to embrace all that is moving; the air, the light, whatever is moving inside of us, with affection and delight. Leaving us with the reminder to recognize that all of this is life unfolding.
