This daylong retreat for youngish adults (over 18, 20s, 30s, and 40s) offers a warm, supportive space to explore how to live with more courage, kindness, and integrity during challenging times. Through guided meditations and talks, we’ll dive into the heart qualities of loving-kindness, compassion, joy, and equanimity, also known as the Brahmavihāras. We’ll also reflect on sila, the ethical foundation of Buddhist practice, and explore ways to integrate these teachings into our daily lives.

In addition to the formal retreat schedule, participants will observe noble silence—a practice of refraining from casual conversation to deepen mindfulness and introspection throughout the day. There will also be an optional opportunity to connect and build community after the retreat ends. It’s a chance to reflect together on the day’s insights and foster connections with like-minded peers, creating a supportive environment to carry the practice into life.

The day’s offerings will include:

  • Guided meditations (seated and walking)
  • Teachings on the divine abodes and sila (ethical conduct)
  • Group discussions and reflections
  • Practical tools for meeting challenges with integrity
  • Time for personal reflection and journaling
  • Optional community gathering after the retreat

This retreat is open to all levels of practitioners, including those that have never meditated before. The location has cushions, chairs, tea, and water.
Please bring a lunch and anything else you might need, including a journal and water bottle.
