Refund and Event Policies

The mind is tricky and it does indeed lie to us.  Trick us into suffering unnecessarily in a multitude of ways,  one of which is anxiety.   The Buddha gave the prescription for this through the practice of meditation, non harming, service and kindness.  In this workshop we will put to practice this ancient and effective prescription and gain tools for overcoming and freeing ourselves from anxiety in all parts of our lives.

This class series is open to the whole community to practice together and explore Buddhist teachings. The evening includes a 30 minute guided sit, 30 minute discussion, along with 30 minutes of tea and conversation.

We will meet for 4 Tuesday evenings from Aug 6 – Aug 27th 7:30-9pm. You are welcome to attend all 4 classes for the best cumulative learning experience or attend classes indiviudally.

All are welcome.  This is a chance to come together and practice in community.

Cost:

This class is a Dana based class. No one will be turned away for lack of funds. Dana means giving. The suggested donation for this class series, which includes 4 classes, is $120 dollars or $30 per class.

$30 per person of an average size class at InsightLA covers the cost of paying teachers, administrators, rent and outreach, as well as covering the participation of students who will pay less.

Please give generously. Your act of generosity is significant. The Buddha taught that all of the beautiful qualities of heart and mind begin with generosity: Generosity dissolves the separation of self and other… Giver receiver and gift intertwined. Everyone has a role to play in supporting the whole community practicing to their fullest potential.
