Join hosts Aleta, Vimalasara, and Arisika every last Sunday of the month to release past losses, and name and claim new blessings.
Afrikan Wisdom
In some parts of the world, the long, light-filled days of summer are giving way to autumn – and it’s time to harvest the richness of the season that’s passed.
Some of us are celebrating the triumphs and milestones of the summer: having survived wildfires, record-setting heat waves, and worsening drought/flooding, we’re longing for cooler weather and thinking about the changes we need to make to survive the current environmental challenges. We may be welcoming the beginning of a new academic or institutional year, envisioning new connections with our neighbors, or initiating or finishing valuable creative projects. Some of us have lost beloved family members, or welcomed new kin into our lives.
Whatever we’ve gone through this summer, let’s come together and harvest the collective wisdom we’ve gained during this summer. We need to rest and reset if we are to mindfully face the season of hurricanes that are upon us: the multiple, interlocking health crises that beset our communities; the attacks on our lives and livelihoods, and the political upheavals and social unrest occurring throughout the Diaspora. Join us as we recharge and renew, invoking the resilience of our ancestors, our own sacred truths, and the healing energies of the earth and the elements.
