The Buddha taught that the entirety of the teachings can be discovered through our bodies. We’ve all experienced a moment when the chattering of our mind has stopped and we’ve felt more deeply connected to ourselves and the moment. It’s a true exhale. We see, hear, taste, touch and feel the world with greater richness and clarity. Life becomes saturated with aliveness. We’re nourished in our reception. Our relationship to wonder, connection, food, sex and simply ‘being’ all benefit.
We can access more of this embodied presence more of the time with practice.
On Saturday, May 20th, join Senior Teacher Justine Dawson and the InsightLA sangha for a day of awakening the senses. Spend the day, inside and outside on the beautiful Benedict Canyon land, moving through varied forms of meditation to explore mindfulness of touch, sound, sight, taste and smell. Tap into the direct experience of your body, and awaken your innate vitality, awareness and insight.
An Embodied Experience
Expect to move through varied forms of individual and partnered meditations, including silent meditation practice, mindful movement, mindfulness of eating and mindfulness of sound. We will use the direct experience of our bodies to awaken awareness, embodiment and insight.
