Our mission is to make all of our programs accessible. Every fee-based offering has a limited number of pay-what-you-can spots available to support self-identified people of color, members of marginalized groups (queer people, transgender people, and  people with disabilities) and those in financial need (those for whom the cost to attend is not financially possible).

These spots are offered on a first come, first served basis. Please pay at the highest level you can afford. In order for this support to be available, we rely on those who can afford to pay the full price to do so.

Peace in Ukraine: An In-Person talk by Dmitriy Yepishin, Board Chair, Inner Way LA
July 30th, 2022
Time: 7 PM – 8:30 PM PT
Location: InnerWay LA & Online

War and conflict are an integral part of human experience. Many efforts have been made to oppose violence and create inner and outer peace. Yet, we find ourselves in the midst of yet another conflict on a global scale. Please join us to explore ways of discovering meaning and healing in times of war, as an antidote to feelings of helplessness, apathy or anger. This discussion will be led by Dmitriy Yepishin, Board Chair of Inner Way LA – a Ukrainian Jew who is trying to draw inspiration and meaning from the violence-ridden cultures of his ancestors.

Mindfulness and Healing Through Music: A Requiem for Cambodia moderated by Trudy Goodman
August 27, 2022
Time: 8 PM – 9:30 PM PT
Location: Online

Composed by internationally acclaimed Cambodian composer and survivor of the Khmer Rouge, Him Sophy, this is the first major symphonic work to address the traumas of the Cambodian genocide of the late 1970s. As an act of cultural renewal, Bangsokol speaks to the role of the arts as a means for healing and reconciliation and seeks to inspire a new generation of artistic expression. The composition is a powerful act of healing.

The piece places the musical ritual of a Bangsokol – a traditional Khmer ceremony that accompanies Cambodian Buddhist funeral rites – within the form of a Western requiem that culminates with a plea to recognize impermanence as the only path to peace.

Mindfulness for The Athletic World Champion In You, with Christian Straka of Adidas Running
September 17th, 2022
Time: 7 PM – 8:30 PM PT
Location: InnerWay LA & Online

Join mental performance coach Christian Straka–who has worked in professional sports for over 30 years–for this special talk on how we can utilize mindfulness to improve our performance–both on the playing field and in everyday life.

Many of us find that as we navigate the various stressors of modern life, we lose our connection to the present. Mindfulness helps us to bring our mind and body into harmony so that we can fully experience what is happening in the moment. Christian has touched on this wisdom for years to deliver evidence-based mindfulness skill development to the athletes he works with as the Global Mindset Coach for Adidas Runners.

In this talk, Christian will show how mindfulness can be as helpful to a professional athlete prepping for an event as it is to a college student looking to ace their next exam. As we undertake this journey of integrating mindfulness into our daily lives, Christian will help us to explore how we develop our mindfulness skills in order to create a game-plan for performance improvement.
