This course will explore how meditation theory and practice can encourage openness to all people of good intention. Readings will be provided from Haribhadra’s Yogabindu, a sixth century Sanskrit Jain text newly translated by the instructor. Meditations will be guided by Maureen Shannon-Chapple.
Christopher Key Chapple is Doshi Professor of Indic and Comparative Theology and Director of the Master of Arts in Yoga Studies at Loyola Marymount University. Maureen Shannon-Chapple teaches meditation at LMU and USC and trains meditation facilitators for InsightLA. They recently returned from a four month Fulbright Nehru Fellowship in India.
