In light of the ongoing impact of collective and individual isolation that particularly impacts trans/NB/GNC and gender-expansive folx, we seek to explore what it means to develop sangha, a Pali word for community, and deep connection. Amidst the natural beauty of Benedict Canyon Retreat Center, we will move between silent individual practice, reflective dialogue, and relational practices to deepen our connection to ourselves and each other.
This is an opportunity to be mindful of our inner sense of who we are, how we understand our gender, and how we wish to be seen. We will also explore ways to offer tenderness and compassion to ourselves and others.
All people under the trans umbrella are welcome no matter where you exist along the gender spectrum or binary, as well as those who are questioning their gender identity. Regardless of where you are in your journey, this is a place to let go and just be!
We invite people to bring food or drink to share with others as a way of connecting with others. We also understand that doing so may not be possible or ideal for folx for a variety of reasons. If you would like to share, please clearly label all ingredients to protect those with food sensitivities or allergies.
Please note that this location is not accessible to those who have difficulty with stairs. We will be offering it both in person and on Zoom to reach as many people as possible.
The ‘Cultivating TRANS/NB/GNC Solidarity Through Sangha’ retreat will facilitated by Julian Kehs (he/him), Galen Swords (she/her), and Onyx Starrett (they/ellx).
