Please note this retreat meets the requirements for participants in Jack Kornfield + Tara Brach’s Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification program through Sounds True.
Held in the wisdom and compassion of the Dharma, this weeklong retreat will focus on practices that help steady the mind, support the development of wisdom and clear seeing, while cultivating the garden of an open heart. An embodied practice of nurturing our hearts supports us to meet the many challenges that life brings.
During this week of retreat, we will invite you to simplify life, to put aside your usual responsibilities and distractions as much as is feasible and to turn inward to replenish. There will be daily meditation instruction and guidance, and we include periods of movement meditation, stationary meditation (sitting, standing, or lying down), mindful eating, Dharma talks, practice discussions, and rest.
Retreat Testimonials:
“I did not expect an online experience to be so profound and to feel such a connection with other people. The teachers were loving and kind guides, the daily practices and schedule were well thought out, and, by the end, I felt a significant shift in how I related to the thoughts and emotions within my body. The retreat experience opened a door to feeling the shame, fear, and unworthiness buried within my body without resisting it. Rather, I became friends with the scary things I had been pushing away for so long. I welcomed difficult and painful sensations, inviting them in with a much kinder, gentler, and loving voice. This retreat will forever remain in my heart and my meditation practice has deepened because of it.”
“I held such resistance to the idea of online retreats, and I didn’t believe it would bring the same kind of benefits as I would expect from in-person retreats. I couldn’t have been more wrong, and I was so very grateful and glad that I decided to try. Yes, there are some cons, but it became clear to me that pros out weighed significantly soon after the retreat started. Thank you for the opportunity.”
“The ability to feel restored as if on vacation from simply going within. Especially poignant during this time of isolation due to covid. True, TRUE inner peace.”
