Financial Support

Our mission is to make all of our programs accessible. Every fee-based offering has a limited number of pay-what-you-can spots available to support self-identified people of color, members of marginalized groups (queer people, transgender people, and  people with disabilities) and those in financial need (those for whom the cost to attend is not financially possible).

These spots are offered on a first come, first served basis. Please pay at the highest level you can afford. In order for this support to be available, we rely on those who can afford to pay the full price to do so.

Find out if spots are available by clicking REGISTER NOW on the event you are interested in.

In the event that these spots have been claimed and you’re interested in attending please email support@insightla.org to be added to the financial support waitlist.

In addition, we offer Payment Plans in a variety of amounts and durations (ie: If the class is $100 you can make 2 monthly payments of $50 or 4 monthly payments of $25). For payment plan requests, please email support@insightla.org

Refund and Event Policies

In this day-long women’s retreat, join Senior Teacher Justine Dawson and the women of InsightLA to settle the chattering mind and touch deeply into the wisdom of the body.

Spend a day in the nourishing, empowering company of women* as we meditate, reflect, practice embodiment and open to the desires of mid-summer.

Opening to Desire

In a safe and supportive space, we will explore desire as an energy which sparks inspiration, nourishes vitality, and fuels creativity. During this day-long retreat, expect to move between silent practice, introspective journaling, enlivening group inquiry and warm-hearted connection in community.

Who is this day-long retreat for?

This women’s retreat is for those who are yearning to connect more intimately to the wisdom of the body and the deepest arisings of the soul.

*All female-identified beings are welcome. Mindfulness, meditation and inquiry practices are suitable for all levels, from beginners to advanced practitioners.

Where is this retreat located?

This event will take place in-person at the Benedict Canyon Retreat House and live online (the program will not be recorded). Find directions, information on what to bring and more on this link.

Attending in person? Please note, In keeping with the principles of the dharma that underlie our activities, primarily non-harming, we are requiring that all attendees be fully vaccinated in order to attend in-person. Masks are optional as all attendees are fully vaccinated. Attendance is limited to allow for social distancing.

About Justine Dawson

Justine Dawson is a teacher and guide of mindfulness, intimacy and awakening. A 25-year practitioner of Insight Meditation, she completed training as a mindfulness teacher under Jack Kornfield in 2012.In addition to her training and practice in traditional meditation and Buddhist psychology, Justine has devoted over 15 years to engaged practice and teaching in the realms of the erotic – sex, desire, self expression and connection. Experience with Internal Family Systems and Somatic Experiencing informs her work. Learn more about Justine here.

With Justine, I found out that desire is not a four-letter word. Instead, it is the way the universe speaks to me, and calls me to share my gifts and talents, to become the beautiful, perfectly messy being I truly am. Working with Justine’s quality of nurturing that blends hard truths with unconditional compassion, I don’t get lost in techniques or tools. Instead, Justine gives real-world practices for everyday life that are directly applicable to my own individual situation.” Beth H, Financial Advisor USA

Justine has ushered me to the places within, where I’ve held my most tender longings and restless passion, so that I can soak in and receive life.  Her teaching style is crisp, raw, and elegant.  She has a gift for untangling the complexity of sexuality, energy, and emotion through her lived experience which adds gravity, so it can sink from the mind into embodiment.” Erica Gibbert, Artist, USA

Through working with Justine, she created a deep, loving and safe space for me to touch these painful places inside and move through them. She taught me that my pain is actually my power and that by sharing it, I can support and impact other women.” Lucy Hall, Coach, U.K.
