Financial Support

Our mission is to make all of our programs accessible. Every fee-based offering has a limited number of pay-what-you-can spots available to support self-identified people of color, members of marginalized groups (queer people, transgender people, and  people with disabilities) and those in financial need (those for whom the cost to attend is not financially possible).

These spots are offered on a first come, first served basis. Please pay at the highest level you can afford. In order for this support to be available, we rely on those who can afford to pay the full price to do so.

Find out if spots are available by clicking REGISTER NOW on the event you are interested in.

We work to protect the safety of all students. We reserve the right to remove any student from any class, sitting group, retreat, or any event if the student is disruptive to the safe learning environment we maintain for all.

Refund and Event Policies

In difficult times, the skills and reflections offered from the Mindful Self Compassion (MSC) 8-week program or 6-week Short Course can help you show up for yourself just as you would a friend.  MSC’s three powerful components work together as an offer of love to ourselves:

  1. mindfulness (we stop and acknowledge that we’re having a hard time – without over-identifying or ruminating);
  2. our common humanity (we recognize that there’s nothing wrong with us for having a hard time; this is just what it’s like to be a human being and we deeply understand we are not alone); and
  3. self-kindness (responding to ourselves with the same level of care and love that we would offer to a friend).

In this one and a half hour workshop, InsightLA’s MSC teachers will be offering you some experiential work with these three components, giving you a taste of how MSC could move from a concept to a living reality in your own life.

__________________________

Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) is a program developed by Kristin Neff, the pioneering researcher in the field of self-compassion (www.Self-Compassion.org) and the author of Self-Compassion: Stop Beating Yourself Up and Leave Insecurity Behind; and Christopher Germer, a clinical psychologist who specializes in mindfulness and compassion-based psychotherapy (www.MindfulSelfCompassion.org) and the author of many books including A Mindful Path to Self-Compassion.

Research has shown that self-compassion greatly enhances emotional well-being. It boosts happiness and reduces anxiety and depression. All that’s required is a shift in the direction of your attention–recognizing that as a human being, you, too, are a worthy recipient of compassion.
