The focus for this class will be how we can apply the Buddha’s teachings to live a more joyful, wakeful, and meaningful life. In learning to turn towards the 4 noble truths the Buddha taught, we will explore ways to transform suffering here and now and explore aspects of the noble eightfold path- in particular the practices of wise view and wise action in our daily lives. The cultivation of clear seeing and wisdom is just as important today as it was thousands of years ago and we can all find creative ways to apply these teachings to our current conditions- for ourselves and the greater collective. There will be time for longer meditations, instruction, Dharma talks, small group work, reflections and discussion to deepen learning together in community. If you’d like additional reading for the class you can reference or purchase the book “Dancing with Life” by Phillip Moffitt (not required).
Participants will be strongly encouraged to meditate for at least 30 minutes daily to support the deepening of their understanding.
This is a class series, not a drop-in group.
We will meet for 6 Tuesdays from June 16 to July 21 from 6:30-8:30pm online, on zoom.
