Join Melissa McKay and Dave Smith for a 4-night silent meditation retreat at the Mary and Joseph Retreat Center.
This retreat offers a quiet space to mark the turn of the year. It’s a chance to deepen your meditation practice, better understand your mind, and let go of old patterns so you can begin the new year with more clarity and calm.
Most of the retreat is held in silence, with periods of sitting and walking meditation. There will be dharma talks, guided meditations, and time for questions and answers. Three healthy vegetarian meals are provided each day.
You’ll be encouraged to practice mindfulness steadily throughout the day, staying with your experience as it unfolds moment by moment. In this supportive, silent environment, awareness becomes sharper, the body settles, and the mind has room to clear. This often opens the way for insight and a greater sense of ease.
By strengthening awareness, clarity, and kindness, we can move toward inner freedom and a more peaceful heart — which benefits our relationship with ourselves, our community, and the wider world.
This New Year’s retreat is a practical opportunity to close out the past year with mindfulness and start the new one with steadier footing.
We look forward to practicing together. Spaces are limited.
