Financial Support

Our mission is to make all of our programs accessible. Every fee-based offering has a limited number of pay-what-you-can spots available to support self-identified people of color, members of marginalized groups (queer people, transgender people, and  people with disabilities) and those in financial need (those for whom the cost to attend is not financially possible).

These spots are offered on a first come, first served basis. Please pay at the highest level you can afford. In order for this support to be available, we rely on those who can afford to pay the full price to do so.

Find out if spots are available by clicking REGISTER NOW on the event you are interested in.

Safety

We work to protect the safety of all students. We reserve the right to remove any student from any class, sitting group, retreat, or any event if the student is disruptive to the safe learning environment we maintain for all.

Cancellation & Refunds

We reserve the right to cancel a class or special event due to low enrollment or other circumstances which would make the event non-viable. Whether coping with small annoyances or full-blown disasters, this workshop leads you through a step-by-step process to strengthen the response flexibility, innate in your brain and your being, that you need to find calm, clarity and courage in the midst of any adversity. You will learn to integrate practices from Western psychology and the Buddhist wisdom tradition to deepen mindful empathy and self-compassion, connect in relationships that are healthy and nourishing, reverse the impacts of any stress or trauma, and use conscious reflection to discern options and make the wise choices that lead to thriving and flourishing.

Objectives:

  1. Describe the differences between stressors (external events) and stress (internal reactions to external events)
  2. Describe the impact of the activation-deactivation of the autonomic nervous system (survival responses) on brain functioning and resilience
  3. Describe three mechanisms of brain change that install new, more resilient patterns of behavior into implicit memory
  4. Implement tools of memory deconsolidation-reconsolidation to help clients rewire dysfunctional patterns of response
  5. Identify three practices of cultivating positive emotions to shift the functioning of the brain from contraction, reactivity, and negativity to openness and the larger perspective
  6. Identify three exercises that can reverse toxic shame and change the relationship of self to the inner critic
  7. Identify 7 steps of mindfulness practice that allow clients to monitor and modify their responses to experience
  8. Identify blocks that might preclude people from accessing resources among family, friends and community
