Prerequisite: completion of a 6-week or 8-week Mindfulness-Based Habit Change (Unwinding Anxiety and/or Mindful Eating).
This class is an invitation to socially connect while practicing skills learned in the Mindfulness-based Habit Change program to help navigate daily uncertainties, enhance well being, and benefit others along the way.
Together our supportive group will cultivate kind curiosity, and mindful awareness with short practices many times while continuing to learn from each other’s wisdom. We will focus on understanding how the mind works through embodied learning, and tap into a deep wellspring of internally based rewards that make behavior change sustainable.
The meetings will include:
- Mindful movement and mediation.
- Map out habit loops.
- Review the 3 gear habit change learning model.
- Group discussion, and time for your questions.
- Mindfulness Based Habit Change (MBHC) is based on the work of researcher and addiction psychiatrist, Dr.Jud Brewer. Integrating both ancient wisdom based on Buddhist teachings and new learnings from modern science, he developed a 3 step approach to habit change demonstrated to be effective with anxiety, stress eating, and smoking cessation.
