Financial Support

Our mission is to make all of our programs accessible. Every fee-based offering has a limited number of pay-what-you-can spots available to support self-identified people of color, members of marginalized groups (queer people, transgender people, and  people with disabilities) and those in financial need (those for whom the cost to attend is not financially possible).

These spots are offered on a first come, first served basis. Please pay at the highest level you can afford. In order for this support to be available, we rely on those who can afford to pay the full price to do so.

Find out if spots are available by clicking REGISTER NOW on the event you are interested in.

In the event that these spots have been claimed and you’re interested in attending please email support@insightla.org to be added to the financial support waitlist.

In addition, we offer Payment Plans in a variety of amounts and durations (ie: If the class is $100 you can make 2 monthly payments of $50 or 4 monthly payments of $25). For payment plan requests, please email support@insightla.org

Safety

We work to protect the safety of all students. We reserve the right to remove any student from any class, sitting group, retreat, or any event if the student is disruptive to the safe learning environment we maintain for all.

Cancellation & Refunds

We reserve the right to cancel a class or special event due to low enrollment or other circumstances which would make the event non-viable. If InsightLA cancels an event you’ve registered for, you will be offered a full refund. If an event has to be postponed for any reason, you will have the option to either receive a full refund or transfer your registration to the same event at the new, future date. Join meditation teacher, author and Nonviolent Communication trainer Oren Jay Sofer for this special two-hour, online workshop in Mindful Communication, where you’ll learn how to bring the values, clarity, and strength of your meditation practice into conversations with those you may be sharing space with—family, friends, loved ones or roommates. For those of us living with others, there may be a desire to strengthen communication practices in this prolonged time of close proximity. For those of us living alone, we may need to draw on other communication practices to maintain relationships with folks from a distance.

In this workshop, Oren will share concrete tips and tools to deepen the healthy bonds you already have, and to hold your own (with love and care) in challenging moments.

The session will include teachings, short guided practices, Q&A and live communication coaching. You’ll learn ways to:

  • Find balance when triggered
  • Stay connected to your deeper intentions
  • Hear the goodness behind other’s words and actions
  • Set limits with love and care

Oren Jay Sofer is a nationally recognized teacher of meditation, mindfulness and Nonviolent Communication. A member of the Spirit Rock Teachers Council, he holds a degree in Comparative Religion from Columbia University, is the author of Say What You Mean: A Mindful Approach to Nonviolent Communication, and co-author of Teaching Mindfulness to Empower Adolescents. Oren is co-founder of Mindful Healthcare and the founder of Next Step Dharma, an innovative online program helping meditators integrate their practice into daily life.

This event will be utilizing the Zoom video conferencing platform. After you register, you’ll receive an email with the zoom log-in information. You’ll be provided a link to access video and dial-in number that will allow you you to join by phone if preferred.
