This drop-in, donation-based sitting group meets for 90 minutes once a month (every third Friday) and is dedicated to those who identify as being in recovery from addictions/dependencies of all kinds. It is facilitated by trained InsightLA mindfulness teachers who are in recovery themselves. All participants are anonymous.
The purpose of the group is to create a safe, welcoming, and trauma-informed environment in which to explore the ways in which mindfulness and the strength of community can support recovery. This group is not affiliated with, nor is it a substitute for any existing program of recovery such as the 12-steps, RR, SMART, or therapy. It is offered as a complementary and supportive practice. We welcome all levels of meditation experience, especially those who are either new to meditation or those who find meditation challenging. Each session will include guided meditation, opportunity for connection and community, and group discussion around topics related to recovery and mindfulness.
When: This group meets every 3rd Fridays of the month from 7:30pm – 9pm PT
