Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction
Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, also known as MBSR, is a secular, evidence-based program that uses the principles of mindfulness to help people create healthier relationships with their thoughts and emotions. In the process, we develop more resilience, acceptance and compassion toward ourselves and others. As a result, stress, anxiety, depression and chronic pain tend to feel less overwhelming.
The intention of this class is that through practicing short guided meditations, self-reflection, and inquiry you can learn to use your attention as a vehicle to self-regulate the nervous system during times of stress and uncertainty.
Who is this class for?
This class is appropriate for anyone that would like to apply mindfulness for stress reduction and well-being. It may also be beneficial for graduates of the 8-week MBSR program who would like to refresh their practice.
