Refund and Event Policies

This course is a follow up to the Introduction to Buddhism Course recently offered but you need not have taken that. This course is a great progression from the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Course, Essentials of Mindfulness course or the Mindful Self-Compassion course and a good way to put mindfulness meditation and related practices in a larger framework aimed at diminishing (or even eliminating) forms of unnecessary mental distress and suffering through the meditative cultivation, the cultivation of wisdom and the practice of restraint.

In this 5-week online series we’ll continue to explore the foundational teachings of the Buddha with more emphasis on how to incorporate the teachings into daily life and in daily meditation practice.

Each session will include meditation with instruction, some teaching and the opportunity for discussion.  The Topics will include:

  1. Ongoing meditation instruction
  2. The Four Noble Truths
  3. The Eight- Fold Path
  4. Working with the classical Hindrances that arise in Meditation
  5. An Introduction to the Paramis, the qualities of heart that are considered essential to awakening

Schedule (5 consecutive Wednesdays 5-6:30pm PT):
March 22
March 29
April 5
April 12
