Refund and Event Policies

The yearning for refuge in the face of life’s challenges is universal. We long for a place of peace, connectedness, and inner freedom.

In this course, we will explore the teachings from Tara Branch’s book, “True Refuge: Finding Peace and Freedom In Your Own Awakened Heart.” We will use the book as a guide, along with group discussion, guided meditation and Inquiry exercises.  Tara Brach reminds us that in Buddhist teachings, we can find refuge within our own hearts and minds moment to moment in the midst of our lives.

Not only can we take refuge in Buddha, Dharma and Sangha in the Buddhist tradition, but in the silent space of awareness, within our hearts open with tenderness and love, and in the truth of the moment.

As we explore the teachings in this book, together we will cultivate our capacity of these three fundamental gateways to refuge: truth, love and awareness as a key to finding peace, and self-compassion, and to the feeling of being at home in our lives.

Purchase of the book is recommended for the course.
