Hermosa Beach Sit Location

Location: The sit will take place at the beach directly west of the Herondo St. (190th) and Hermosa Ave. You can park in the public parking there at the west side of the intersection or on Herondo/190th and walk down to the beach.  

Items to Bring: Please bring something to sit on; towel, chair, cushion, hat and layered clothing. There is a metered parking lot ($1.50 for one hour), or parking on Herondo- bring quarters as needed.

Skirball Cultural Center

Driving Directions

The Skirball Cultural Center is located in the Sepulveda Pass just off the 405 Freeway, 2.5 miles south of the 101 Freeway. Traveling north or south on the 405, take the Skirball Ctr. Dr. exit and make a right onto Sepulveda Blvd. For customized driving directions, consult the Google Map and enter your starting address.

Rideshare and taxi drop-off—If you are visiting the Museum galleries or attending an event or program in Taper Courtyard or Haas Conference Center, request to be dropped off outside the main entrance. If you are attending an event or program in Ahmanson Hall, Herscher Hall, Guerin Pavilion, or Guerin Courtyard, you may wish to be dropped off at the North Parking garage, at the end of the Skirball’s main driveway.

Parking Information

Parking is FREE at the Skirball, except during the Skirball’s summertime Sunset Concerts, which take place on six Thursday evenings in late July through August.

Parking is available in the Skirball’s northern parking garage (“North Parking”), located underground at the end of the Skirball’s main driveway. Parking is also available in in the eastern parking garage (“East Parking”), located across Sepulveda Blvd.

Electric vehicle charging stations are located on L1 in the North Parking garage and P3 in East Parking garage. There is a four-hour time limit for use of these stations, which are reserved for vehicles in the process of charging only. For the safety of you and other visitors, please wrap the cord around the base.

To enter the North Parking garage—From Skirball Ctr. Dr., proceed up the Skirball’s main driveway, pass the Skirball’s main entrance on your left, follow the curve, and drive underground into the garage.

To enter the East Parking garage—From Sepulveda Blvd., turn onto Bergreen Pl., located north of Skirball Ctr. Dr., directly across Sepulveda from the Skirball’s main entrance.

NOTE: Street parking on surrounding streets, including Mulholland Drive, is strictly prohibited.

Public Transportation

Take public transportation to the Skirball via Metro Rapid 734 or Metro Local 234. Visit the Metro LA website for bus schedules.

Northbound—Metro Rapid 734/Metro Local 234 (towards Sylmar/San Fernando Valley): Passengers are picked up and dropped off at the Metro stop on the southeast corner of Bergreen Pl. and Sepulveda Blvd., directly across the Skirball’s main entrance. Upon arriving, cross Sepulveda Blvd. at the Bergreen Pl. crosswalk and enter the Skirball through the main entrance ahead of you.

Southbound—Metro Rapid 734/Metro Local 234 (towards the UCLA/Westwood): Passengers are picked up and dropped off at the Metro stop on the northwest corner of Herscher Way and Sepulveda Blvd., approximately 150 yards north of the Skirball’s main entrance. Upon arriving, head south along Sepulveda Blvd. and enter the Skirball.

Directions: Take Ocean Park Blvd. all the way West to where it stops, and turn left on Barnard Way. Take your first right at the stop sign into Parking Lot 5 South and turn RIGHT into short term parking before the main lot ticket booth. There is an extra (unmanned) ticket booth on the short term lot. If you come for the 7-8 AM sittings you need to buy a ticket for your parking stall number and display it ($1/hour). The booth now takes credit cards and cash (no change is given). 

The sitting group will be just north of lifeguard station # 27 or to the right if facing the ocean. Walk straight down the wooden board walk and then to your left. You may not be able to see us sitting on the beach from the parking lot, so please walk to the lifeguard station to find the group.

LMU University Hall

Driving Directions to the LMU Sitting Group

The group meets at the Marymount Center, located at the LMU Westchester campus on Lincoln Blvd.

From Lincoln Blvd. turn into LMU Drive. (As you enter, you’ll see a fountain on your right)

You’ll see a large building to your right (called University Hall) adjacent to the fountain.
Enter the SECOND driveway, P2, on the right of that building into underground parking.

Park in the P2 parking garage at University Hall and credit the kiosk near the central elevator with enough to get you up to 8 PM, after which they do not charge for parking.   You will need to input your license plate number. Usually,  $2.50 will be enough; if you arrive very early, then you will need to pay more.

Take the elevator by the parking machine to the first floor. Turn left into the atrium and walk to the far end. Take the escalators there to the third floor and then turn left toward the large windows in the front of the building. The Marymount Center for Prayer and Peace is on the right in the northeast corner of the building. Proceed through the lounge and through the wooden doors. Welcome! If you are late, please come in quietly, but do come in! There are chairs and some sitting cushions provided.
