Parenting can be an all-consuming, emotionally charged, and even chaotic experience, but also one that presents unique opportunities for mindful living and growth. What are some of the ways to maintain a mindful equilibrium in addressing day-to-day parenting challenges? What can our kids and our experiences raising them teach us about living life deeper and more skillfully?
Join Wendy Block, an Insight meditation teacher, in conversation with Lane Igoudin, author, educator, and mindfulness practitioner, about his recently published memoir A Family, Maybe, which depicts his and his husband’s journey adopting their daughters from foster care, and his spiritual takeaways from being an adoptive Dad.
The talk will include a meditation practice, Q&A, and book signing. The discussion will highlight the application of Buddhist and mindfulness practices to one particular challenge described in Lane’s book – interfacing with the foster care system. We will have Q and A between Wendy and Lane, a reading from the book, and questions from audience.
