Practice Groups
Practice groups are a supportive environment for you to maintain and strengthen your practice in community. Most groups are led by InsightLA teachers and facilitators although some are peer-led. There is no experience necessary to attend these groups. They are drop-in and donation-based.
Affinity Groups Practice
We offer an array of affinity groups for community members to connect and practice with others of a shared identity/experience. In the face of adversity, affinity groups provide safe spaces for collective healing, resilience, wisdom, and joy.
We have affinity groups and offerings for people of color, queer people, transgender people, immigrants, white people uprooting racism, people in recovery, parents, those who are aging, and people who live with chronic pain and illness. And, we’re offering mindfulness resources in Spanish in communities that have limited access to these teachings.
InsightLA also made history by offering (and selling out!) the first ever residential retreat for transgender people called, “Creating Joy in Community” at Big Bear Retreat Center. Through the generosity of our community, we were able to provide financial support and travel stipends, as well as pay teachers for creating these spaces for deep healing.
Current groups include LGBTQueer+, transgender, mindful of whiteness, Spanish speakers, neurodiverse, youngish adults, middleish adults, mindful aging, chronic pain and illness, recovery, and suicidal ideation.
NOTE: All events are listed in Pacific time.
